Description of the short type piston
  • Short type pistons are characterized by a shorter travel distance within the cylinder compared to their longer counterparts. This allows the cylinder to perform more cycles in the same amount of time.
  • Thanks to their compact size, they are suitable for use in areas where space is limited.
  • Short stroke pistons are defined as a family of pistons where the piston stroke is a fraction of the piston diameter. Technically, this is defined as a stroke-to-diameter (s/d) ratio of less than 1.0.
  • Short stroke pistons offer excellent clamping force ratio and high force in a small size. Due to the special piston shape (oval piston), they are distortion-resistant and ideal for block clamping.
