• The GE..TGR 2RS is a spherical plain bearing. Spherical plain bearings consist of two parts: instead of rolling elements, they are made up of an inner and an outer ring. The outer surface of the inner ring is convex, while the inner surface of the outer ring is concave. This construction gives spherical bearings their high load-bearing capacity and ability to accommodate misalignment.
• The GE..TGR 2RS has a steel-PTFE sliding contact, which makes it maintenance-free. PTFE is a special type of plastic. During the initial running-in period of these bearings, PTFE particles are deposited on the mating surface, filling in microscopic irregularities in the inner ring surface and creating a smooth contact surface. As a result, the components fit together perfectly.
